Privacy Policy
Global Media Registry Directory is operated by Alessandro De Marco, trading as Global Media Registry, who is the data controller for the information described here. We keep the minimum needed to run your account and we never sell personal data.
What we store and why
- Account: your email address, an optional display name, a hashed password and the date you verified your email. Needed to provide the service (contract).
- Access and payments: the date your access runs until, the pass you bought, whether you switched auto-renew on, and for each payment the Paddle transaction id, amount, currency, date and the moment you agreed to immediate access. Needed to provide the service and to meet our legal duty to keep accounting records.
- Application tracker: the statuses, dates and notes you record against agencies. Private to your account and never shown to agencies or other users.
- Usage: which agency pages are opened, kept without linking to you where you are not signed in, to understand which listings people find useful (legitimate interest).
Payments and Paddle
Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as merchant of record. When you buy a pass you are buying from Paddle, which is why Paddle's name appears on your card statement and on the invoice. Paddle collects your card or PayPal details, billing address and country, charges the VAT due where you live and issues your receipt. Those details never reach our servers. Paddle and Global Media Registry are each independently responsible for the data they hold; Paddle passes us only what we need to grant your access and help you with your order. Paddle's own privacy policy applies to the data it holds.
Emails we send
Transactional email only: account verification, password resets, confirmation when access starts, a reminder before any auto-renew charge, a note when a pass is about to end, and confirmations when you turn auto-renew off or a renewal payment fails. We do not send marketing email.
How long we keep things
Account and tracker data for as long as your account exists. Payment records for six years after the payment, as UK tax law requires; when you delete your account these records are kept but detached from your identity. Webhook and server logs for 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account deleted at any time by writing to us from the address on your account. Deletion removes your account and tracker immediately; payment records are anonymised as described above. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or to the supervisory authority where you live.
Analytics
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It is off until you accept: if you decline, or ignore the banner, no Google script is loaded and no analytics data leaves your browser. If you accept, Google receives your browser and device type, an approximate location derived from a shortened IP address, the pages you open and how you arrived at the site. We do not send Google your name, email address or anything else that identifies you. We may use this data to see which of our Google ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. Google acts as our processor for this data and may transfer it outside the UK and EEA under the safeguards set out in Google's own privacy policy. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page; declining there stops any further collection.
Advertising
With your consent we use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) and the TikTok Pixel (TikTok Technology Limited) to measure which of our ads on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok bring people to the site, and to show our ads again to people who have visited. Neither is loaded until you accept. If you accept, they receive the pages you open, your browser and device type, your IP address and events such as a search (with the words searched), creating an account, starting a checkout or buying a pass (with the pass and its price). We do not send them your name or email address. Meta and TikTok are joint controllers with us for collecting this data and use it under their own privacy policies, which may involve transfers outside the UK and EEA. Separately, when you create an account we record how you reached us (campaign tags in the link, the referring website and the first page you opened) so we can tell which channels bring new members; this stays with us. You can withdraw consent at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Cookies and storage
We set three cookies of our own: one to keep you signed in, one to remember your language, and one to remember your answer to the cookie banner. All three are needed either to run the site or to respect a choice you made, so they are set without consent. If you accept, we also keep a fourth cookie for 30 days that remembers which link or ad brought you here, and Google Analytics, Meta and TikTok set their own cookies. Paddle's checkout sets cookies for fraud prevention while it is open. We never sell your data.
